The structure is part of the city of Lishui’s urban wind corridor project. Urban wind corridors are believed to mitigate pollution and regulate temperatures, which can reduce energy consumption.

The butterfly-shaped through-arch bridge over the Hao River is 552m long and has a main span of 208m, making it the largest single-span through-arch bridge in Zhejiang Province. The structure has two main arch ribs and two secondary arch ribs. It is being built using a fully welded steel box structure.
