The government of Cambodia will temporarily open the country’s highest bridge on Friday to ease traffic during the nation’s new year.

Bridge No. 28 in Pursat Province in the west of country will be open to tourist and family vehicles and motorcycles on 11 April.

The bridge is 90m from riverbed to bridge beam, 10m wide and 537m long. It is being built by China Construction Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) and technically supervised by Guangzhou Wangan Company at a cost of US$25 million.

Sun Chanthol, deputy prime minister of Cambodia made the announcement on Tuesday following a concrete pouring ceremony for the bridge’s head.
