The government of the Brazilian state of Paraná announced a milestone in a project to bridge a 1.2km stretch of ocean.

The project update said that the Guaratuba Bridge was 44.2% complete. It reported that a temporary structure that will support concrete forms during construction is being assembled.

The state of Paraná is spending US$77 million on the project, which will eliminate the need for ferry transport between Matinhos and Guaratuba (link opens in new tab).
