Construction will begin this month on a replacement motorway viaduct following the award of a contract by the German federal state of Hessen to the Austrian construction company Strabag.
Strabag will dismantle the two structures of the Uttrichshausen Bridge in west-central Germany, which were built in 1966 and 1968. It will then replace them with modern structures. The viaduct crosses a valley in Kalbach. It is expected that by 2030, it will be used by 51,000 vehicles a day.
